✦ About the 2025 Keio Rengo Mita Kai Conference ✦

Keio Mita-Kai Conference:
The 2025 Keio Mita-Kai Conference is held under
the theme “Gather Under the Blue, Red and Blue Flag”
Mita-kai is a collective term for the gathering of many voluntary alumni groups and associations organized by graduates of Keio University. These groups are formed and run by alumni themselves, not officially by the university (though they are affiliated). All of these alumni associations exist under the umbrella of the Keio Rengo Mita-kai.
The goals of this annual meeting are networking & socializing, support for students & younger alumni, continuation of clubs & community and institutional support for Keio. They hold various events like sport competitions, conferences, lectures, concerts, etc.
Naoko Takeuchi sensei graduated from the Kyoritsu College of Pharmacy where she received a degree in Chemistry, but her college has since been absorbed into the Keio University, making this her alma-mater.
For the 2025 edition of the Keio Mita-Kai, Takeuchi sensei designed exclusive Sailor Moon themed artwork of the Inner Guardians dressed in Keio University cheerleading outfits and Usagi is dressed in “gakuran” (male cheerleader squad outfit).
There are only two items in this drop, but are limited edition and will not be sold online or anywhere else. It is important to note that this collaboration was not announced on any of the Sailor Moon official accounts, only on the official Rengo Mita-Kai website.

✦ Merch release ✦
There is controversy as to whether these goods should be accesible to Sailor Moon fans or not since this information was not published on the official Sailor Moon website.
It’s not clear why this partnership was targeted only towards Keio University alumni, however, Naoko Takeuchi chose to use Sailor Moon instead of creating non Sailor Moon artwork for this collaboration, which will always spark interest within the Sailor Moon collector community. It should also be noted that the merchandise WAS available to outsiders who could acquire goods without restriction.
The process of securing goods was a bit complicated as they did not sell them as regular retail. At the event, there was a vendor area where they sold a variety of commemorative products. They used a system of sheets and points that needed to be purchased in advance on THIS page after signing up.
A “sheet” is the unit of purchase for the event. One sheet = 10,000 yen and it was the minimum amount required to buy merch. Then, the sheets needed to be converted into “points” online. One sheet = 5 points. After the converting sheets to points and showing proof to the staff, a timed ticket with the amount of points purchased was issued.

The amount of points needed for clear files were 0.2 points, however it wasn’t possible to break up the sheet into smaller amounts, therefore the minimum amount of clear files that could be purchased was 5. The hoodie was 20 points, so if 1 sheet = 10,000 yen = 5 points, then 4 sheets were necessary to get 20 points which added up to 40,000 yen.
