✦ Shipping via Japan Post

On April 14, 2026 Japan Post resumed accepting all US-bound packages, with new duty-prepayment rules following changes to U.S. customs regulation. A flat 12.5-15% duty fee applies to most imports.

$100 (or less) duties are not required.
$101 or more, duties are required to be paid (this includes gifts or merchandise). Senders must prepay U.S. customs duties before mailing. The seller will typically charge you a fee to cover this before they ship.

Express, top priority registered mail.

✦ Airmail
Delivery will be made by air (registered and unregistered) 
DELIVERY TIME: Approximately 5 days – 2 weeks

✦ Economy Air (SAL) – temporally suspended
Delivery will be made by air, but will be a low priority (registered and unregistered)
DELIVERY TIME: Approximately 2-6 weeks

✦ Surface Mail
Delivery will be made by sea/surface (registered and unregistered) 
DELIVERY TIME: Approximately 1-4 months

✦ If you are in the USA, these will all be delivered to you via USPS. All registered mail is trackable, and you usually need to sign for it.

✦ Some merchandise is banned in the US, and Japan will not ship it. Please check with your seller/store that the right custom codes are correct so that the shipment is not refused in the US and sent back to the seller.

✦ Shipping via ECMS

✦ ECMS/Economic Air (also known as “small pack” with some companies):
ECMS trackable shipments are packed and shipped out by ECMS themselves. This means there will be delay between when you payment and when your packaged will ship. When your item goes through customs, it will be delivered to you by a 3rd party company for example: uni-uni, SpeedX, Amazon, sometimes USPS. Duty fees are paid prior to shipment (typically less than other shipping options), and no surprise bill later.

✦ Shipping via UPS, FedEX, DHL

The below shipping options are typically express mail and can be either comparable or more expensive than EMS. Some duties are paid upfront by the seller, but typically charged after you have received product. You may get a text, email, or letter in the mail (sometimes all three) from these shippers to pay all applicable fees.
