2011 Kodansha Sailor Moon Manga Guide

1st Kodansha Release: The 2011’s

These editions are the oldest of the 3, that began releasing in 2011 by Kodansha, the same publisher of the manga in Japan.

The complete set contains 12 volumes + 2 short stories volumes. This is the only release that has the short stories in their own volumes.

Kodansha later released 2 special edition box sets of volumes 1-12.
Codename Sailor V was also published.

Fun fact: The Sailor Moon community nick named these “reprint manga” as these were a reprint of the original manga(tankobon) in Japan, called shinsoban.

Short Stories
2 Volumes

In the original Sailor Moon manga run in the 90s in Japan, the 10 short stories are included in the main Sailor Moon volumes instead of separate volumes.

In this 2011 release, they separated the short stories into 2 collectible volumes.
This is the only set that separated the short stories out of the 3 English sets.
