Sailor Moon: Prism on Ice Cancellation and Goods

The “Prism on Ice” Ice skating show has been canceled.

Back in 2019 at Usagi’s Birthday event in Japan, a brand new ice skating show featuring an international cast of talented skaters was announced. While Prism on Ice wouldn’t be the first ever ice skating show the Sailor Moon franchise has produced (there were a slew of children-oriented low budget shows back in the late 90s with more superficial story lines that tied back to the classic anime), this seemed to be a streamlined retelling of the Dark Kingdom arc aimed towards a more mature audience.

However, circumstances pushed the show to be postponed three times: Initially scheduled to debut in June 2020, it was moved to 2021, then 2022 and finally 2023. Unfortunately, official sources have now confirmed the show has been completely canceled. Ticket refunds in Japan will begin shortly for those who were able to pre-order. A reason for cancellation was not stated.
