Wonder Festival 2026: Kaiju One x Sailor Moon

This post is only informational

✦ Wonder Festival 2026 – Kaiju One x Sailor Moon collaboration ✦

Wonder Festival (a.k.a. “WonFes”) is Japan’s largest event dedicated to garage kits, designer toys, and collectible figures, held twice a year in Chiba, Japan. The event brings together professional manufacturers alongside thousands of independent sculptors and hobbyists who sell original creations and limited-run figures, many of which are available only at the show.

One of the defining features of WonFes is its unique “day-of-event license or “one day license” system, which allows independent creators to legally produce and sell small batches of figures based on copyrighted characters for that specific event only. Dealers apply for permission through Wonder Festival’s organizers, who coordinate approval with participating rights holders. If approved, the license is valid only for sales at that particular Wonder Festival, making many of the event’s licensed garage kits and art toys extremely limited and highly collectible.

Most of these products are offered at the festival as retail (which tend to sell out within the first few hours), or they are sold through a lottery system, where you sign up and pick up a ticket, return to the booth at a certain time, and they call out the winning ticket numbers. In case of winning, the item must be picked up and paid for immediately.

Sailor Moon has had a long history of different artists using the one-day license to create limited run resin kits and figurines since the early 2000s. These figures normally have either the silver Toei license sticker (if based on the 90s anime), and the Kodansha sticker or the PNP (Princess Naoko Planning) if based on the manga.

For the 2026 Wonder Fesival, the “sofubi” (soft vinyl) collective “Kaiju-One” acquired the day-of-event license for the manga version of Sailor Moon which they teased back in July 5th.

Not much information was shared after the initial teaser image. Two days before the actual WonFes took place (July 25, 2026), Kaiju One posted full pictures of the Sailor Moon sofubi along with the rest of their line of toys.

This item could only be purchased at the Wonder Festival in Japan. As this event has now passed and all pieces were sold out within the first few hours, the only way to purchase this item now is through the Japanese second hand market.

*Note: On the table, we also can clearly see there is a Sailor Mercury figure displayed (priced the same as Sailor Moon), but it is unclear at this time if she was also for sale at the event, or if she was only displayed as a preview for a future event.
